Last weekend in Crans Montana the ladies returned to the slopes, watched by Jacuzzi, as the event sponsor. Next Saturday and Sunday, instead, Jacuzzi will follow the men’s team in Kranjska Gora.
After the break for the Ski World Championships the ladies headed to Crans Montana where on February 24th, where Federica Brignone secured her first victory in the Alpine Combined. The Italian athlete finished with a large lead over the Slovenian Ilka Stuhec and the Austrian Michaela Kirchgasser, who finished in second and third place respectively. Saturday saw Ilka Stuhec win in the Super G ahead of the Italian Elena Curtoni and the Austrian Stephanie Venier. The weekend in Crans Montana ended with the triumph of Mikaela Shiffrin in the second Alpine Combined, followed by Federica Brignone and Ilka Stuhec with her third podium finish of the race weekend. Stuhec has moved into second in the overall standings behind the unbeatable Mikaela Shiffrin, and surpassing Lara Gut, who had to finish her season early because of injury.
The women’s races will continue next weekend in Jeongseon, South Korea whilst the men, supported by Jacuzzi with its local presence and its unfailing hot tubs travel to Kranjska Gora. A location in north-western Slovenia, which annually hosts a stage of the Ski World Cup known as Vitranc Cup: these are the Giant Slalom and the Special Slalom which this year will be held respectively on March 4th and on March 5th. Athletes will compete in these technical disciplines on the Podkoren slope, one of the most challenging of the whole the Ski World Cup, for the last stage before the awaited finals in Aspen, United States.
