The Ski World Cup – the story so far!

Performance  /  15 January 2016

Our official sponsorship of nine races at the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup has taken us to many locations so far! Now half way through the competition, we take a look back at the best moments of the races…

Lake Louise, Canada

First stop, Lake Louise! The Lake Louise resort is one of the select few that hold both the men and women’s speed events on the World Cup circuit and hosted the first FIS Ski World Cup downhill and super-G races of the season.

With its breath-taking views, it’s no surprise that this resort is known as one of the best in the world and we couldn’t think of a more perfect place for the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup to kick off. Most importantly, we were so proud to witness U.S. Ski Champion Lindsey Vonn win for the third time in her World Cup skiing career at Lake Louise.

Beaver Creek, U.S.A.

Being proud sponsors of the U.S. Ski Team in the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup, we were very excited to land in the team’s home country for the second location of the event! The Birds of Prey in Beaver Creek is the only men’s race of the season in the U.S. and one of the world’s premier ski events.

The men’s team didn’t take home any medals, however it was an incredible experience and a stunning resort. Thinking about heading here next season? We highly recommend the Park Hyatt Hotel – after a long day skiing you can visit the most luxurious spa – Allegria!

Are, Sweden

Our latest stop has been Are, Sweden, where we have enjoyed trying new things (we loved their local delicacy; a soup called Arter med Flask!) and of course, seeing another beautiful ski resort.

The atmosphere of the latest races was incredible and as expected, U.S. skier Lindsey Vonn wrapped up an impressive fourth straight World Cup win, continuing her domination of the season.

After a busy few weeks, it was time for a little break. But we’re now in 2016 and we can’t wait to get to our next event in Cortina D’ampezzo in two weeks! Keep an eye out for all the latest Ski World Cup news and gossip on our Twitter @JacuzziUK and follow #bestmomentoftherace.
