Flashback of the week

Performance  /  18 December 2015

#flashbackfriday – Great emotions at the FIS Alpine World Cup races in Are.

Last weekend saw the first Jacuzzi partner race in Europe. Are, Sweden was host to a fantastic event throughout the weekend.

On Saturday we witnessed the continued domination of the 2015/16 season by Lindsey Vonn with a narrow victory in the giant slalom over Austrian Eva-Maria Brem by just 0.07 seconds. As only her fourth victory in the giant slalom discipline it’s surely one of the best moments of the American champions’ career. Luckily enough we got to meet and greet her after the race (thanks again Lindsey).

Sunday saw the slalom race take place and staged the first world cup win for the 20 year old Slovakian skier Petra Vlhova. With a 51.70 time in the first run and a 52.56 time in the second run, her performance was enough to keep her in front of an inspired run by Swedish skier Frida Hansdotter by 0.59 seconds.

There was more to Are than just the thrilling races, the atmosphere around the sloes was electric and ski lovers were also treated to the best moment of the day in a Jacuzzi J-480 hot tub located in the VIP area. We we’re also treated to an appearance of some of the Swedish Ski Team who presented our local dealer, FolkPool, with the Jacuzzi award for being the be Best New Entry 2015.

Thanks to everyone who followed out behind the scenes tour of Are, and see you at the next race!
