Jacuzzi is in Chamonix this weekend!

Performance  /  16 February 2016

Chamonix and alpine skiing have a long-standing relationship. The first Winter Olympic Games of 1924 were undoubtedly when the French town achieved international recognition for the first time and today Chamonix is considered by many to be the birthplace of alpine skiing.

The development of facilities in the valley has opened up access to exceptional sites, at the foot of Mont Blanc all the ski areas offer stunning panoramic views with quality high altitude skiing and snowy conditions, on a variety of courses. The legendary “Piste Verte” in Les Houches is outlined with pine trees, its environment and orientation towards the sun often offers an ice covered, green tinted slope, which is where it gets its name from.

The downhill course is a 3343m long black run with an 870m vertical drop. The best skiers in the world launch themselves down it in two minutes.

A series of highly technical sections and jumps, including the Goulet and the Cassure, make this one of the most challenging downhills in the FIS Alpine World Cup.

We’re going to be there this weekend cheering on the races – look out for the Jacuzzi logo!
