Discover Lake Louise Resort

Performance  /  20 November 2015

Lake Louise is one the best ski resorts in the world and an ideal place to host a race for the FIS Ski World Cup.

Situated in western Canada, in the Banff National Park, Alberta, Lake Louise is on the southern slopes of the Merlin Ridge of the Slate Range, around 3,000 metres above sea level.

The Resort is the only place in Canada where the FIS Ski World Cup is held, so you can imagine what a breathtaking location this is to be given such an honour. The FIS Ski World Cup is also known as the Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup and attracts high-profile downhill skiers from around the globe.

There are 139 marked ski runs and back bowls on four mountain faces in total, with 25% beginner, 45% intermediate and 30% advanced. The Terrain Park however, is designed for riders of all levels.

In the spring, the resort also hosts Ruckus in the Rockies; a freestyle snowboard and live music event to celebrate the end of the snow season.

You could say that this idyllic ski location is fit for royalty, as the lake owes its name to Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, daughter of Queen Victoria and wife of John Campbell, Governor General of Canada at the time.

Get inspired by this spectacular scenery and enjoy the #bestmomentoftheday!
