Training for the ski slopes all year round – how Jacuzzi UK is supporting winter athletes during their summer pre-season.
With the Summer of Sport upon us, the world’s focus will be well and truly fixed on the Olympics at Rio when it kicks off next month.
Whilst the Olympics brings with it training challenges for athletes and the need to acclimatize to Brazil’s hot and humid conditions, in the meantime winter sport professionals need to keep training through the summertime so they’re ready for the winter games season.
Although there are a number of glacial resorts open in the Alps and Canada all year-round, spare a thought for those winter athletes who need to maintain their skills, minus the white stuff!
The Jacuzzi Brand is the official sponsor and hot tub supplier to the U.S. Ski Team, who kicked off the end of their season with a month-long training camp in Norway – embedded with the Norwegian Ski team.
Before returning to action in New Zealand in August, ski teams will now have to hit the gym and focus on conditioning training; including a series of full-body circuit workouts to help them keep lean without training on snow.
With the World Cup competitions requiring a huge amount of endurance, the team will focus on a mix of power, strength and stamina over the summer to ensure that they’re in perfect form.
This just goes to show that it’s never too early, or late, to start training for your next ski season! If your workouts are centred on conditioning, your body will be prepared for the season ahead and help you to avoid injury and make the most of your trips.
The good news is that Jacuzzi hot tubs are the perfect addition to your training routine, whatever your sport or season. The jets help to recover early onset muscle soreness, meaning you can get back in the gym and into your routine faster than ever.
