Wellness  /  24 May 2017

May Bank Holiday may mean an extra day off work for the adults, but if you’re a parent, it also means trying to find fun and exciting activities to entertain the kids!

Whether you’re happy to spend a little, or if you’re looking for family-friendly activities on a shoe-string, we’ve hand-picked some of the best family-fun days out the UK has to offer…

# 1 Parklife

Good news, it looks like the weather is on our side this May Bank Holiday with the majority of the UK set to experience some sunshine for most of the weekend! So, why not pack a picnic and head to your local park. Kids love the great outdoors and parents can enjoy a rare moment to relax whilst the kids are entertaining themselves.

#2 Head to the zoo

The zoo is a great, family-friendly day out with something for everyone. Many require an entrance fee, but there are often family discounts available if you pre-book your tickets. Marvel at the monkeys and pretend you’re a penguin at a variety of UK zoo’s, which all offer so much to see!

#3 Legoland Windsor

A popular attraction amongst children and adults, Legoland offers a jam-packed family day out. What’s more, there are also lots of LEGO STAR WARS™ themed activities taking place over May Bank Holiday so it’s the perfect time to visit!

#4 Free farms

There is an abundance of free farms situated all over the UK with a variety of farm animals waiting to be pet. Many farms will also include an on-site café and children’s playground, proving a great, free day-out for kids and adults to enjoy.

#5 It’s a Wipeout

For the more active families, the newly refurbished, Ninja Warriors-inspired inflatable assault course at the New Forest Water Park is something for sports lovers everywhere. The course includes everything from on-water monkey bars, challenging hurdles, trampolines and even an ice climbing tower. You get an hour to complete the course and tickets come it at £15 per person.

Whatever activity you decide to embark on this Bank Holiday, it’s safe to say, there’s nothing more relaxing than putting the kids to bed and kicking back in a warm, bubbly Jacuzzi hot tub!
